Rocío Rojas: Albertian talent shines at the National Impar Chess Championship.

Talent, dedication, and perseverance paid off in an outstanding way for Rocío Rojas, a 6th grade A student from our Colegio Bicentenario de Excelencia San Alberto Hurtado, who represented the municipality of Constitución with great skill at the National Impar Chess Championship, held in Santiago.

Over seven demanding days of competition, Rocío was the sole representative from Constitución in a tournament that brought together the finest school chess players from various regions across the country. In this high-level arena, she demonstrated concentration, strategy, and resilience in every match, achieving remarkable results:

• 2nd place in the Standard category

• 3rd place in the Blitz category

These major achievements reflect many hours of preparation, effort, and perseverance—values that inspire our entire educational community and prove that dedication to one’s goals always reaps rewards.

As a school, we celebrate this milestone with special joy. It not only recognizes Rocío’s individual merit, but also highlights the growth of chess in our municipality and motivates other students to pursue their talents with enthusiasm and commitment.

Furthermore, we extend our sincere gratitude to her family, especially her parents, who accompanied her during this intense week of competition, providing the support and trust needed to take on such a significant challenge.
